The short version: we don't collect data about you. We don't track you across other apps or websites. The only information we keep is the minimum we need to make the app work for you — and you can delete it any time.
What we store (and why)
The app stores only what it needs to give you a personalized lawn plan:
- Your email address — so you can sign in and so we can send you confirmation, password-reset, and (if you opt in) reminder emails.
- Your name — only if you give us one during signup or via Sign in with Apple/Google. It's used to greet you and nothing else.
- Your ZIP code and lawn details (grass type, lawn size, sun exposure, irrigation) — used to build your weekly plan, fetch local weather, and guide you on products and providers in your area.
- Photos you upload to your mowing log — kept on your account only. We never publish them, never use them to train any model, and you can delete them at any time.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent any of your information. Ever. To anyone.
- We do not show advertising in the app or on the website.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites. There are no advertising SDKs in lawnplan.
- We do not share your contact information with service providers. When you tap to call or email a pro, you contact them directly — we don't pass your details along.
- We do not collect your precise location. The app uses your ZIP code only, never GPS coordinates.
- We do not use your photos to train AI or machine-learning models.
- We do not have access to your camera roll, contacts, microphone, or any other personal data on your device beyond what you explicitly upload.
Children
lawnplan is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email [email protected] and we'll delete it.
How long we keep your data
As long as your account is open, your lawn data stays so the app keeps working for you. If you delete your account, your information is removed from our active systems within a few days.
Your choices
- See or correct your data — sign in and visit your account settings, or email us.
- Delete your account — email [email protected] and we'll erase it.
- Turn off email reminders — every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, or just ask us.
- Turn off push notifications — toggle it in your phone's system settings.
- Stop sharing your photos — delete any mowing log entry and its photos are removed from our servers.
California, Virginia, and other state privacy rights
Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), and similar states have the right to access, correct, delete, and port their personal information. Because we don't sell or share data for cross-context behavioral advertising, there's nothing to opt out of — but you can always request access, correction, or deletion by emailing us.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and (for material changes) email account holders. We won't quietly broaden what we collect or how we use it without telling you.
